Three Italian ports joined by a new MSC service with India

Departing on December 19th, the connection will reach Genoa, Salerno and Gioia Tauro

The ports of Genoa, Salerno and Gioia Tauro will be reached by a new MSC direct container service with origins in India which will also have other ports in the western Mediterranean as destinations.

Departing on December 19th, the connection will call in order the ports of Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Jeddah, Gioia Tauro, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, Salerno, Gioia Tauro, Marsaxlokk, Jeddah and again Abu Dhabi. The MSC Shanghai ship, with a capacity of 4,800 TEUs, will operate the first rotation.

Thanks to the new direct connection, MSC will be able to offer a transit time of 19 days from Mundra to Genoa, 23 days to Valencia and 16 days between Nhava Sheva and Barcelona.

According to the company, the service will offer new export opportunities in particular to the automotive, clothing and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors. Shipping Italy reported
