The number of pretenders to the presidency of Fedespedi rises to three

Andrea Scarpa (Fratelli Cosulich) will formalize his candidacy in the next few hours which would be added to those of Pitto and (probably) De Ruvo

No longer just two but three parties have become interested in proposing their candidacy for the next presidency of Fedespedi, the national federation of international shipping companies.

To the names of Alessandro Pitto (Casasco & Nardi), so far the only official candidate, and Carlo De Ruvo (DHL Global Forwarding) who has not yet made official his availability, will be added in the next few hours that Andrea Scarpa (Archimede Gruden – Gruppo Fratelli Cosulich) which, according to what has been learned from SHIPPING ITALY, is preparing to communicate its candidacy to the association in the next few hours.

On the two Venetian days to celebrate Fedespedi’s 75th anniversary, the name of the expert Venetian forwarder emerged powerfully as one of the candidates to lead the association for the next three years after Silvia Moretto.

The election is scheduled in a month and, if there is no convergence between the various territorial associations on a name, the only possibility will be to go to the vote count to understand who will have obtained the most consensus.

De Ruvo represents above all the world of air cargo, large groups, and territorially the Milanese and Lombard square which is identified in the Alsea and Anama associations.

Pitto (outgoing president of Spediporto) is an expression of Genoese and Ligurian shipping as well as family-business model shipping houses. Scarpa, also outgoing vice president of Fedespedi (like Pitto) during the expiring term of Silvia Moretto, is geographically recognizable in the Triveneto area even though the company Archimede Gruden has been part of the Fratelli Cosulich group of Genoa for some years.

The definitive ‘go-ahead’ for his candidacy as president of the Italian freight forwarders came precisely following a confrontation with Augusto Cosulich last weekend at the corporate convention of Express Global, the leading shipping company of the Cosulich Group.

The National Federation of International Shipping Companies – was established on 11 June 1946 and is based in Milan. It includes ANAMA (National Association of Air Freight Agents), ANTEP (National Association of Port Terminal Operators), and FISI (Italian Federation of Industrial Freight Forwarders).
