Alexandria Port received the cargo ship “SEAWAY SWAN”, this Friday morning, coming from the Chinese port of Qingdao, carrying 4 giant cranes STS to operate the multi-purpose “Tahya Misr” station.
The ship was received by Rear Admiral Nihad Shaheen, head of the Alexandria Port Authority, and Rear Admiral Abdel Qader Darwish, head of the board of directors Management of the Egyptian Group for Multi-Purpose Stations Company.
The marine units of the Alexandria Port Authority accompanied the tugs and boats to guide the ship as soon as it entered the shipping lane and helped it complete the navigation process inside the port, all the way to its landing on the berth designated for it.

The project aims to increase the port’s handling and storage capacity of containers and general cargo. It consists of berths with a length of 2500 m, with depths ranging from 14.5 – 17.5 m, and a floor area of 545,000 m2.
The Egyptian Group for Multi-Purpose Stations Company continues to implement the project, which was started in early March 2020, and the implementation rate has reached 99% so far, in preparation for its operation.
