Ismailia October 29 2022 –  Admiral Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority, inspected today, Saturday, the navigation movement in the canal, which witnesses the crossing of 65 ships from both directions, with a total net tonnage of 3.7 million tons.

 Rabie  explained that the navigation movement in the canal during the month of October 2022 (according to the calculations of the average daily transit during the month) recorded the transit of 2117 ships from both directions compared to the transit of 1847 ships during the month of October of last year, with a difference of 270 ships, an increase of 14.6%, and the total net tonnages amounted to 126.5 million tons compared to 112.3 million tons in October of last year, a difference of 14.2 million tons, an increase of 12.6%.

Admiral Rabie added that the revenues of the Suez Canal during the month of October of the Gregorian year 2022 recorded 703.4 million dollars (according to the calculations of the average daily return during the month) compared to 552.9 million dollars during the month of October of last year, a difference of 150.5 million dollars, an increase of 27.2%.

It is noteworthy that the navigation traffic in the canal has recorded new and unprecedented records during the current month in terms of daily transit statistics, achieving the highest daily transit rate and the largest daily net tonnage of transiting ships in the history of the canal, on Tuesday, October 18, when they crossed in that Today, 90 ships from both directions without waiting, with a total net tonnage of 6.2 million tons, exceeding all previously recorded numbers.
