Port of Koper : Delivery of a new STS container cranes

Port of Koper ( Luka Koper ) received the arrival of the first of the two new STS container cranes. As its older cranes, which were delivered in 2017, it has an outreach of 24 container rows, but with some latest electronic upgrades which ensure even more safe operations and higher productivity.

The crane should be operational in three weeks’ time when all check-ups and tests are performed. The second crane arrived on 7th May, completing the number of STS to 11 in total.

Port of Koper is a public limited company, which provides port and logistics services in the only Slovenian port, Koper. It is situated in the northern part of the Adriatic Sea, connecting mainly markets of Central and Southeast Europe with the Mediterranean Sea and the Far East.

There are ambitious ongoing investment plans estimated at an amount up to 300 million EUR. The port is also a transit port, serving more than 70% of non-domestic hinterland markets and less than 30% of the Slovenian market. The port therefore really has a wider European role and value.
