Bulk carrier PANTHER MAX suffered engine failure in Dardanelles while ballasting from Egypt to Chornomorsk Ukraine at around 1340 UTC Feb 2 north of Canakkale.

Traffic Control Center was immediately alerted, SAR tugs responded and took the disabled bulk carrier to an anchorage in front of Saltik, Dardanelles. As of 1730 UTC Feb 2, the ship remained in the same position.
