Incidents : Container on fire after explosion in container ship hold, Vietnam

The container caught fire after an explosion in the cargo hold of container ship MORNING VINAFCO, docked at Ben Nghe, Ho Chin Minh, Vietnam, in the afternoon Sep 4. explosion and ensuing fire were probably, caused by sparks from welding works carried out in the vicinity of the container. The fire was extinguished in about half an hour by firefighting teams, which arrived at the scene shortly after the fire alert. No injures were reported.

Marine Traffic reported  that Container Ship MORNING VINAFCO is currently located at SEASIA – South-East Asia at position 10° 45′ 56.988″ N, 106° 44′ 9.24″ E as reported by MarineTraffic Terrestrial Automatic Identification System on 2021-09-04 15:31 UTC (6 hours, 2 minutes ago)
The wind in this area at that time blows from the North direction at force 0 Beaufort.

The vessel is currently at port HO CHI MINH, VN after a voyage of 3 days, 15 hours originating from port HAI PHONG, VN.
