Caring for Seafarers and their families is what the Mission does and seafarers arriving in Vancouver come from all over the world. While it is not unusual for them to be away from home for months at a time, during the pandemic the time of their return home has been, at worst, alarmingly indefinite and loneliness, isolation, and the fatigue of the job have been further compounded.
The work seafarers do touches us all as much of what we have is brought by sea and so all this in mind at Christmas we make an extra effort to give back to seafarers with our gratitude.
We deliver to seafarers onboard the ships some 1500 gift bags containing: toques, socks, chocolate, devotionals a souvenir, and toiletries. This is only made possible through the generosity of donors.
