CARNIVAL cruise ship funnel fire, Grand Turk VIDEO

Cruise ship CARNIVAL FREEDOM suffered funnel fire early in the morning on May 26 while being berthed at Grand Turk, Turks, and Caicos, Caribbean. Nobody was injured though as a precaution, passengers were mustered at safety stations and had to put on life jackets. The crew extinguished the fire by its own means in less than an hour, according to Carnival Corp. Statement:

CARNIVAL FREEDOM’s emergency response team quickly activated and extinguished a fire inside the ship’s funnel while the ship was in Grand Turk. All guests and crew are safe, and the ship’s guests were cleared by local authorities to go ashore. We continue to assess the situation.”
