Aframax tanker disabled by fire, anchored, Java sea

Fire erupted in engine room of Aframax tanker SEABORNE PETRO at around 2000 LT (UTC +7) Sep 15, some 9 nm SW of tanker’s destination, Cinta Oil Terminal, Java sea, NW of Jakarta. Tanker drifted or moved dead ahead until 1830 LT Sep 16, when she anchored 18 nm north of Ciwandan, Java, Sunda Strait. Reportedly, fire was extinguished, situation understood to be under control, though at one time it was said, that the crew was about to leave the ship on lifeboats. AIS is on, tanker was en route from Dumai, most probably in ballast, considering her destination. No injures reported.
