Singapore-based shipping company Swire Shipping has announced the entry into service of its first 2,400 TEU newbuild vessel, MV Changsha.
M.V. Changsha is part of a wider orderbook of eight feeder container vessels — four 2,400 TEU and four 2,750 TEU ships — scheduled for delivery in 2020. The vessels are part of the company’s fleet renewal program which began in 2015.
“Like many other companies, we are very concerned about the global situation over CoVid19. However, we are also cognisant that vital supply chains must remain open with as little disruption as possible,” Jeremy Sutton, General Manager at Swire Shipping, commented.
